Dental Restorations in Kamloops

Tooth decay can occur over time. Regular brushing and flossing after meals is the best defence against tooth decay, but cavities can sometimes still occur. Enamel acts as a protective covering for your teeth and when it has eroded enough a small hole (or cavity) may occur. A filling is designed to fill this hole using metal or composite materials. Fillings help to restore damaged teeth.

If you do not like the look of your tooth because it has become discoloured, damaged, or misshapen, perhaps you should consider a crown. Crowns, sometimes called "caps," are permanently affixed artificial coverings, intended to restore the look and function of individual teeth.

An inlay is designed to fill more severe cavities. Rather than injecting material into the cavity that is then left to harden, an inlay is created ahead of time and is then cemented into place.

An onlay is very similar to an inlay. An onlay is specifically designed to improve a person's biting strength by restoring the cusp (the sharp part) of a tooth.

A dental bridge literally bridges the gap left by a missing tooth. If there is a gap in your smile, a bridge will fill it. These typically consist of an artificial tooth that is anchored on either side by a crown.
